Unanimated ist eine vom Black Metal beeinflusste Melodic Death Metal Band aus Schweden. Vor ihrer Auflösung veröffentlichten sie 2 Alben: In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead (1993) und Ancient God of Evil (1995). 2009 veröffentlichten Sie ihr neues Album namens In The Light Of Darkness.

“In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead” ist grundsäzlich ein Death Metal Album der alten Schule mit Keyboardeinlagen und diversen Black Metal-typische Stilmittel wie eben typische Vocals oder Tremolo-Riffing.

“Ancient God of Evil” wird generell als das Bessere Album gehandelt. Fast alle Aspekte der Musik wurden auf dem zweiten Album verändert. Angefangen beim generellen Sound, der zum Melodic Death Metal tendiert (Nicht identisch mit dem Goethenbrug Metal), bis hin zur Produktion, die trockener als auf “In the Forest of the Dreaming Dead” ausfiel. Das Tremolo Riffing blieb erhalten, die Gitarrensoli erhielten einen leicht bluesigen Anstrich und die Keyboard Sounds erhalten den Ansatz von Ambiente.
