My name is Alexander Bagdahn and I am a 25 year old musician and producer named Areo from Hannover.

In general, I am a trained banker who is currently studying economics at The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University here in Hanover. Afterwards I work as a musician in the evening, as my Nine-to-Five activity; from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Do you know this when you, for example, Listen to music on the go and the music grabs you in such a way that you feel like you’re in an interactive music video? That is what I want to achieve. You should be able to get lost in my melodies & rhythms.

But what kind of music do I actually make? In general, I don’t find it so easy to get to the point because of the many (sub-)genres and their soft boundaries. To get an idea of what I’m creating, it’s best to listen to my music and get a picture of it 🙂

I would say that my songs range from house to urban to pop. Generally speaking, I don’t pay attention to genres when composing, I just combine what I like.

Music should not be considered down to the last detail, but felt: Just because a chorus has just more elements of z.B. Trap than usual for pop, this does not stop me from letting the single drift in one or the other genre-cross direction. At the moment, however, I notice that the DNA of my music can best be attributed to the generic term pop.

However, my roots lie in electronic music, which I published under a different name (“lx”).

During this time I was able to gain my first experience with signings and record labels in general. It was a great feeling to be signed by an indie label and to be able to make your first experiences in life as an artist. After three record deals, I started working with vocals most of the time. I quickly found fun working with singing and now draw a lot of inspiration from making music with vocals.

My debut single “Blue Memories” represents this musical change of direction. It was a lot of fun to work on this song and I’m glad to be able to share it with the world now. I hope you like the track!

I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that I have produced a brand new single called “Embody” with a very talented and promising singer/rapper called WWJWW, who is now waiting for their release! Soon I will post a snippet on Instagram.

My goal was to achieve a single with a rhythm full of vintage warmth that harmoniously complements the melodic topline of WWJWW.

I am absolutely thrilled with the final result and look forward to this release!

It’s exciting to develop my own sound, and I hope to be able to develop as an artist for as long as possible.
