Mondmann

Mondmann lives in Erlangen (Bavaria) and originally hails from Coburg.

He started producing music in his early teens. His first steps were taken with -Musicmaker- and various beginner programs, before he eventually moved on to -Reason- (back then still version 1.1, borrowed from an acquaintance) — the DAW he still works with to this day. Live performances were never really his main focus. Mondmann always felt the urge to make music, but he was too impatient and lacked the patience to learn an analogue instrument. It was only when he discovered virtual studios that he could finally give free rein to his "urge."

Mondmann's sound is hard to pin down. He experiments extensively with sounds and rhythms, constantly evolving and never standing still. At the moment, his music leans heavily towards Dub and Deep House. He himself describes it as a kind of ambient-tinged dance music… music to dream to 😉

Even though his musical influences change regularly, a few artists have accompanied him along the way for the long haul — among them Paul Kalkbrenner, Dominik Eulberg and Aphex Twin. When it comes to harder sounds, he's also partial to Sven Väth or Chris Liebing.

Mondmann tends to stay in the background at concerts. His true craft lies in producing and designing new sounds. Listing the countless shows he's contributed to by name would go well beyond the scope of this bio.
